While reports are still sketchy, it appears that former President Donald Trump has survived an assassination attempt which media outlets are describing as "Homicidal, But Mostly Peaceful" in Butler, Pennsylvania on 13 July.

The New York Times noted in a headline: “Trump ‘Safe’ After Shooting at Rally; Suspected Gunman Killed,” a clear intimation that it probably was not an actual assassination attempt, but rather a cowardly Trump fleeing what was probably an accidental discharge by one of his gun-toting MAGA hooligans.

MSNBC ran a banner headline for hours reporting that Trump had been injured when he took a fall after a "popping noise" was heard during his speech, rather than confuse viewers with the actual audio of the event.

Over at CBS, Robert Costa warned the nation about the violent nature of Trump's followers.  Indeed, riots, mayhem, arson, and senseless vandalism have failed to break out nationwide in response to the attempted assassination.  This is a diabolical tactic on the part of the MAGA masterminds, robbing the media of any chance of changing the subject or somehow blaming Republicans for the event.

A spokesperson for The View, speaking on condition of anonymity, hinted that we may hear Whoopi Goldberg excuse the event as a non-event, that is wasn't "assassination assassination," and that we may expect Joy Behar to float the theory that Trump hired a marksman to clip his ear with a long range rifle shot in a bid to earn sympathy from the American voter.

We here at the People's Cube condemn unequivocally any form of Right-Wing political violence and call for Congressional hearings on the dangers of allowing Trump to hold public rallies where such violence might take place.
